ABOUT ME:

My name is Lindsay Wendlandt and I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters in Information Studies and a concentration in both Public Librarianship and Academic Librarianship. For my undergraduate studies, I received a BA in English, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University.

I am primarily interested in Reference and Information Services. My interest in librarianship stems from my strong love of reading that developed as a child and has continued into the present day. I have always loved libraries and have wanted to become a librarian since I was little.

I have practical experience through my Capstone project by creating subject-based resource guides (LibGuides) as well as experience working with editors, publishers, authors and illustrators through my internships at The Highlights Foundation and the children's publishing magazine, Highlights for Children.

I believe librarians have a duty to serve a diverse community as a whole and create a safe space where everybody, no matter who they are or their beliefs, has the ability to read and learn and develop new ideas.
